Planxty O’Rourke in Saint Tropez / Adult class and Rome feis

Planxty O’Rourke are performing in Saint Tropez this weekend to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the French folk dance group « Lou Rampèu de Sant Troupès ». There will be over 400 folk dancers from the region taking part in the festival, and Planxty O’Rourke are the invited guests. The Planxty O’Rourke group comprises of twenty dancers and musicians.

Best of luck also to the Scoil Uí Ruairc adult class who will be travelling to compete at the Rome Feis!

Mini-Munsters and Aos Óg Concert

Good luck to our dancers competing at the Mini Munsters in the South Court Hotel this weekend!

Also look out for our dancers performing on Friday night (27th May) in the Aos Óg concert as part of the Fleadh Nua. The concert takes place in Glór at 8pm. See www.fleadhnua.com for the full details of the festival.

Solo and ceili success at World Championships!

Congratulations to all who represented Scoil Ui Ruairc at the World Irish Dancing Championships in CityWest.  Special congratulations to Jayme O’Sullivan who placed 3rd in the U12 Boys, to Daire Hanrahan who placed 4th in the U14 Boys, to Dillon Stanley who placed 19th in the U17 Boys, and to the 16-19 Ladies Ceili who recalled and received medals.  Photos to follow!
